Tóm tắt (Abstract)
Nghiên cứu được thực hiện từ tháng 11/2024 đến tháng 9/2025 nhằm xác định thành phần loài, đặc điểm phân bố và hình thái phân loại của các loài thuộc họ ốc cạn Pupinidae Pfeiffer, 1853 ở khu vực Tam Chúc, tỉnh Ninh Bình. Các mẫu vật được đối chiếu, so sánh với mô tả gốc và mẫu chuẩn. Kết quả ghi nhận được 7 loài và phân loài thuộc 3 giống (Chuatienpupa Do & Nguyen, 2023, Pupina Vignard, 1829 và Tylotoechus Kobelt & Möllendorff, 1897). Trong đó, loài Pupina limitanea Godwin-Austen, 1897 được ghi nhận lần đầu tiên cho khu hệ động vật Việt Nam; Chuatienpupa megacanalis Do & Nguyen, 2023 và Pupina verneaui Dautzenberg & Fischer, 1906 là ghi nhận mới cho tỉnh Ninh Bình; loài Pupina brachysoma Ancey, 1904 được phát hiện lại sau 121 năm kể từ mô tả đầu tiên. Phân tích hình thái cho thấy các loài thuộc họ Pupinidae tại Tam Chúc thể hiện sự đa dạng đáng kể về hình dạng vỏ, tấm đỉnh, tấm trụ, các kênh dẫn và số vòng xoắn, phản ánh khả năng thích nghi với điều kiện vi khí hậu ẩm, nhiều khe đá và hang hốc đặc trưng của hệ sinh thái núi đá vôi. Những dẫn liệu thu được góp phần hoàn thiện cơ sở dữ liệu của họ Pupinidae ở Việt Nam, đồng thời tạo nền tảng cho các nghiên cứu tiếp theo về phân loại, tiến hóa, quan hệ phát sinh chủng loại và lịch sử phát tán của họ ốc cạn này
Abstract
CONTRIBUTIONS FROM A PUPINIDAE COLLECTION (GASTROPODA: CYCLOPHOROIDEA) IN TAM CHUC AREA, NINH BINH PROVINCE, WITH NEW RECORDS FOR VIETNAM
This study was conducted from November 2024 to September 2025 to determine the species composition, distribution range, and diagnostic morphological characteristics of land snails in the family Pupinidae in the Tam Chuc area, Tam Chuc Ward, Ninh Binh Province. A total of seven species and subspecies representing three genera (Chuatienpupa, Pupina, and Tylotoechus) were recorded. Among these, Pupina limitanea Godwin-Austen, 1897 is reported for the first time in the Vietnamese fauna; Chuatienpupa megacanalis Do & Nguyen, 2023 and Pupina verneaui Dautzenberg & Fischer, 1906 are new records for Ninh Binh Province; and Pupina brachysoma Ancey, 1904 was rediscovered after 121 years since its original description. Morphological analysis revealed notable diversity in shell shape, the structure of apical and columellar plates, canal structures, and the number of whorls among Pupinidae species from Tam Chuc, reflecting their adaptive capacity to humid microclimates and limestone karst habitats characterized by abundant rock crevices and caves. The findings contribute valuable data to the current knowledge of Vietnamese Pupinidae, serve as a foundation for further studies on taxonomy, evolution, phylogenetic relationships, and biogeographical history of land snails
